The Client Challenge and Project Breif:
Sonia from Billericay, Essex contacted me in March 2023 as she saw my projects that I posted on the local facebook page showcasing my work. She was renovating her old timber decking area in her back garden for a new patio area using porcelain tiles and brickwork. As there was going to be quite a drop from the edge of the patio, she needed to have a balustrade installed for safety reasons. The design that she was looking for was a frameless glass balustrade fixed on the front patio wall. Not only does a front fix style of glass balustrade give you more room on your patio, it is an elegant and modern solution, ensuring safety while maintaining an unobstructed view. Sonia also wanted a glass panel fitted to the side of steps. This panel had to first be templated using hardwood. The specification of the glass panels is 17.5mm toughened laminated with polished edges, with stainless steel glass adaptors fixed through the glass panels and secured with bolts to the brick wall. As with all projects undertaken by Visage Glass and Steel we ensure that we adhere to all relevant safety standards and building regulations
