Free Foating Glass Balustrade – Loughton

Another recent free floating glass balustrade completed for a customer in Loughton. Using 13.5mm toughened laminated glass panels

The Client Challenge and Project Breif:

I was contacted by Beth Davis from Loughton, Essex who was having a complete garden renovation at her property and due to the high walls she had made which have sandstone blocks on top of the rendered walls. Beth required a glass balustrade to act as a protective barrier for safety as she has a small child. From my point of view her garden with the free floating glass balustrade wouldn’t look out of place in some swanky Mediterranean hotel. As with all the free floating glass balustrade we provide at Visage glass and steel, the glass thickness is 13.5mm toughened laminated glass panels.

With installing a glass balustrade onto this type sandstone, extra care is needed when drilling the holes for the uprights as you don’t want to crack one of them blocks when drilling due to the cost of each block. Luckily none was cracked in this installation! As with all our glass balustrade installation we use a chemical resin and 10mm chemical anchors/bolts to securely fix the posts to the wall.
