Glass Juliette balcony and glass balcony balustrade – Banbury, Essex

Laura from Banbury, Essex got in contact back in March 2023 as they were in the process of building their new home and required a Juliette glass balcony for their main bedroom french doors and a frameless glass balustrade for their balcony area for their second bedroom.

The Client Challenge and Project Breif:

Laura from Banbury, Essex got in contact back in March 2023 as they were in the process of building their new home and required a Juliette glass balcony for their main bedroom french doors and a frameless glass balustrade for their balcony area for their second bedroom.
We installed all the glass balustrade work in June 2024
The Juliette panel measured just over 3.8m wide and 1150mm high. When a glass panel is that size, the glass thickness has to be 21.5mm toughened laminated. Special lifting equipment has to be used to lift the panel into place using 6no stainless steel glass standoffs. The glass panel weighs 130kg.
We supplied and installed their glass juliette panel to their bedroom door.

The Visage Glass & Steel Solution:

As you can see from the pictures installing a glass panel this big is no mean feat! Installing a large frameless glass balustrade panel is indeed a significant challenge that requires careful planning, the right tools, and skilled professionals. Here’s a breakdown of the process and considerations to ensure a successful installation:

Site inspection –
Conduct a thorough inspection of the site to assess any potential obstacles or challenges.
Ensure that the structure can support the weight of the glass and the aluminum channel.

Measurements –
Precise measurements are crucial to ensure the glass panels fit perfectly.

Safety Planning –
Develop a safety plan to protect workers and prevent accidents during installation.
Ensure all team members are equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses

Lifting Equipment –
Depending on the size and weight of the glass panels, cranes, hoists, or other lifting equipment may be required.
Use appropriate slings or rigging to securely lift the glass
